Methenamine Hippurate 1gm tablets are a prescription antiseptic used primarily for the long-term prevention of recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs) in adults and children over 6, often branded as Hiprex or Urex. They work by converting to formaldehyde in acidic urine to kill bacteria. The tablets are white, capsule-shaped, and usually taken twice daily.
